Brandenburg Gate from the East approach, after the border was closed, but the final, tall wall was not yet built. This shows the long stretch of no man's land before the gate, the trucks parked between the pillars of the gate, blocking the passageways, the military vehicles near the Gate, and the bored soldiers protecting the approach to the Gate. The first, temporary wall can be seen on either side of the Gate. Historic stuff of the dreary beginnings of a sad, ugly part of history.
