While the focus is more towards the lips than exactly on the nearest
eye, it is close enough to still be able to use this rather unusual photo for those times. unusual, because she never allowed a pose in such an attitude and was usually well guarded when she was expressing herself more freely.
In any case, I like this expression and manner much better than the "put on" attitudes and poses she usually presented. It would seem to me to be quite genuine and more likable than most.
