My nephew David getting to know his Uncle for the first time in
years, 1962. I was always in School, away from home, and then in
Europe. This short vacation at the NJ Seashore during my 1962 visit
to the US was our first time to really get to know each other at all.
And his expression shows it.
What can I say. David was simply the most gorgeous child I have ever
seen. What a perfect, open, honest face. And what a magnificent,
curious, thoughtful, ingenuous manner. My sister's first born, she really did well.
This is my favorite photo of a child ever, by anyone. And the fact
that the Messraster allowed the focus to be precisely on the pupils
of his eyes made this photo the magnificent exact document of a
child's manner that it is.
