This is simply one of the great photos of a child, as far as I am concerned. It is perfect. Marvelous. Besides being Messraster-focused right on the pupil of the child's right eye, the child is
perfect, the expression is priceless, and the whole impression goes
right through to the child's soul.
I forget how, but I became friends with an English family that was
in Berlin with the British occupation forces. The father was a
teacher and the family was delightful and a pleasure to be around.
The child was wonderful, as this photo shows: exactly the ideal of
the ingenuous (guileless), well-raised young boy.
