For me, the greatest irony is that I never did formal portrait session of the inventor of the greatest focusing device ever, and the negative of the one roll of film I had is missing.
This messy copy is scanned from the 35mm contact sheet which was made by simply laying the film down on a sheet of photo paper and exposing it.
I will post more of these as I find the time to clean them up, as the images are scratched and full of blemishes. But they are all i have of the greatest inventor of optical devices ever. Not only is his "Messraster" still able to focus precisely on some things auto-focusing cameras cannot. But it is the basis of all through-the-lens auto-focusing devices that measure differences behind the lens. And that means just about all of them.
