Ula Larsson in a Lurman dress

In isolated Berlin, business was kept artificially alive by government subsidies, benefits and even allied help. But by the mid60s, it became ever increasingly difficult to do business from Berlin and manufacturers and businesses were moving to West Germany. Lurman was an exception. A Munich clothing manufacturer, he gave me a contract to photograph his season's styles in Berlin. He also had his own portraits done.

Not haute couture, Lurman manufactured better mass-made fashions for a more mature crowd. And he had a sense of humor.
