APPLE RETINA DISPLAY ADS

Does it occur to anyone the ridiculousness of the Apple home page with the zebra photo that is trying to show us how great the retina displays will look?

Why?

Because we all will be viewing those attempts at showing us how good the retina display will look on our own, old, supposedly crappy-in-comparison-to-a-retina-display monitors.

Most ads for HDTV do the same sort of thing.

If those images look great on our old junk, why do we need a retina display or HDTV, etc?

It is totally ridiculous. The only real way to know the difference is to go look at a retina display with non-retina displays sitting right next to the retina display for comparison. The same for HDTV and other such technical "improvements".
