Patrolling the West Border.

The Western military patrolled the areas near the border, where people from the West could see and wave to people from the East.

Civilians were kept away as much as possible. But they still went right up to the edges, and had to be waved back. In general, the soldiers kept a closed eye to the goings on. But they did patrol carefully, even in the West, to avoid any incidents.

The WALL can be seen at the end of this overpass. Civilians stood on top at the edge to wave to families and freinds.
