Brunilda Ruiz as the youngest daughter. As her solo progresses, Adela's passion for her sister's fiance unfolds. Choreographer Alvin Ailey used a set of chairs to symbolize Adela's family traditions. She begins her struggle firmly anchored to her family's past. Her intense facial and hand gestures reflect her anguish.
